Turnover generated in the processing industry increased by 4.1% in March this year as compared to March 2007. As compared to February this year, turnover fell by 0.5%. These figures were calculated by the Federal Statistical Office.
Among the most important fields of the processing industry turnover generated by the manufacturers of radio and telecommunication engineering devices increased most (+10.7%), followed by the metal processing industry with a plus of 8.6%. The only sector among the most important ones in which turnover fell was the food industry (-1.0%).
In the first quarter 2008 the turnover volume was up by 5.6% in comparison with the same quarter last year.
