More than 300 applications for German Internet Prize

According to the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media (BITKOM) more than 300 innovative small and medium-sized entities (SMEs) have submitted their applications for the German Internet Prize 2007. This renowned IT award honours innovative high-tech solutions which have proved to improve the competitiveness of SMEs. The award ceremony will be the highlight of the 3. Deutscher ITK-Mittelstandstag.

The jury will meet on October 9th in order to select the winners. On the 6th November the three winners will be awarded in Dusseldorf and receive cash prizes to the total amount of 60.000 Euros. Several hundreds of leading representatives of the IT industry and users of innovative IT solutions are expected to attend the award ceremony in Dusseldorf. In addition, it will be possible for entrepreneurs to meet high-level policy makers.

The German Internet Prize is awarded for the 8th time and takes places under the auspices of the German Minister for economic affairs, Mr. Michael Glos. Partners of the event are Datev, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Microsoft, Oracle and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
