Important prize awarded to three innovative handicraft businesses

A few days ago the internet prize of the German handicraft was awarded in Dortmund. The three prize winners, i.e. FritzGlock Tischler GmbH from Gera, the SPS Fertiggauben roof specialist from Westerstede and the Landesinnungsverband des Bayerischen Zimmererhandwerks which is based in Munich, asserted themselves against almost 100 handicraft companies and company co-operations which had all aspired to win the award endowed with 30.000 Euros.

The solutions provided by the three prize winners combine high standards of quality of their products and services with the advantages of the medium internet: individual addressing of customers, rapidity, optimized business processes and immediate availability, as was said by Mr. Harmut Schauerte, the German government´s commissioner for small and medium-sized entities (SMEs), explaining the jury decision.

The prize winners who represent the carpenter, joiner and roofer crafts had demonstrated their innovative approach in a particular way by integrating videos and blogs into their websites and making use of intra and extranet applications in order to record customer data, optimize business processes and exchange data with business partners.

The internet prize of the German handicraft was awarded for the 6th time by the Federal Ministry for economic affairs and technology (BMWi). The event is sponsored by Deutsche Telekom, the national confederation of skilled crafts, the impulse economic magazine as well as the Deutsche Handwerksblatt. GERMAN
