NEG Website Award to be launched soon

The “Netzwerk Elektronischer Geschäftsverkehr” is going to launch the »NEG Website Award» on August 15th 2007. Winners will be awarded a total prize money of 6000 Euros. Target group of the event, which is sponsored by the Federal Ministry for economic affairs, are small and medium-sized entities (SMEs) from industry, commerce and the service sector. The prize will award the best websites of SMEs.

Assessed will be the quality of how target groups are addressed. This includes the presentation of information on the respective products and services provided but also the technical functionality of websites irrespective of whether these can be used for corporate communication, business transactions or for the conclusion of a contract.

In a first phase 16 winners will be selected at the Federal state level. These will then be the candidates for the all-German prize competition in the course of which winners will be chosen by an expert jury on the occasion of the award ceremony in the spring of 2008.

Participate may all companies with up to 250 employees and an annual turnover of up to 50 million Euros. There will also be a special prize awarded by the Computerwoche in co-operation with Handelsblatt online. Applications will be accepted from August 15th to September 30th 2007.
