Three innovative companies were honoured with the international “Energy Efficiency Award” for exemplary projects aimed at increasing energy efficiency by Mr. Michael Glos, Federal Minister for the environment. This prize is awarded by the Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena) in co-operation with Deutsche Messe.
The prize endowed with 10.000 Euros went to the Weidmüller Interface GmbH & Co. KG. The second prize was won by the Paderborn based WARSTEINER Brauerei Haus Cramer KG while the third prize was awarded to METRO Group Asset Management GmbH & Co. KG.
By generating heat electrically from a highly-efficient combined heat and power unit the Weidmüller company was able to save considerable amounts of energy and costs. Die Haus Cramer brewery was honoured for the systematic energy-saving optimization of their company compressed-air system. The METRO Group Asset Management implemented an energy saving concept for ventilation and air conditioning successfully. More detailed information is available on the internet.
